About The Position

The Sales Agent will be responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals, maintaining good relationships for new customers and that of existing accounts. Duties will include sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating and closing deals with potential clients.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding agronomy and sales process and dynamics, and also superb interpersonal skills. Previous experience in an agronomy sales role is a huge advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Marketing of agronomy services.

  • Managing sales of Company services for key counties in Kenya: Narok, Kitui, Uasin Gishu County.
  • Carry out farmer focus activities like scheduled farm visits, presentation of company services, sampling, and presentation of results including after sales follow up to ensure clients retention.
  • Lead the existing team of field agents who are providing soil testing services to farmers by initiating and carrying out marketing activities in the regions.
  • Coordinate and communicate with HQ office support team including, Business development manager, finance to ensure customers account management is done right in terms of right documentation, price negotiations and payments.
  • Monitor UjuziKilimo industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand farmers  specific needs
  • Carry out product development activities in close coordination with marketing and Business development team to help develop broad agronomy services portfolio including demos, trials trainings and field days.
  • Represent the company at key agricultural sector stakeholder meetings and industry events including field days, exhibitions and trainings.
  • Support Technical Manager in trials management, marketing related newsletters/articles and technical documentation

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Sales ,business development or Agronomy in related field
  • Technical know-how in the field of crop production
  • Customer oriented, sharp in finding and closing deals
  • Good in building relationships at different clientele levels
  • Required proficiency and knowledge in certain industry and relevant topics related to this Job.
