Fullstack Engineer

Overall Description

We use our comprehensive agricultural database and precise farm data to generate insights using machine learning and data analytics to ensure that farmers get quality timely information and service providers access accurate data to deliver tageted services through our platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead, manage and mentor a team of product managers, software and hardware developers, and related personnel to execute on the Soil Pal’s vision and goals.
2. Product lifecycle management from concept to launch of the product(s) across all products/product lines.
3. Align product vision with the businesses short and long-term goals.
4. Lead, define, represent and communicate product strategy to all stakeholders.
5. Manage the various projects within smaller teams and their to align with the efforts of other teams with clearly defined timelines, deadlines and key performance indicators.
6. Develop and execute strategic plan for UjuziKilimo’s product growth plans.
7. Build incredible teams and processes to deliver products that satisfy the needs of customers.
8. Define and oversee compensation, training, and incentive programs that motivate the teams to achieve product deliverables.
9. Prioritise and plan which features which teams will be working on so time and resources are not wasted before product/version release.
10. Manage the department budget and accounts to provide detailed and accurate expenditure forecasting and reporting every quarter.
11. Work with the Director of Operations to manage software and hardware update releases.
12. Become the key evangelist of {product} and participate in press activities, conferences, discussions with thought leaders and market analysts.

Team

The Director of Product reports directly to the executive team with executive sponsorship from the CTO and additionally works closely with all members of the leadership team including the other directors and leads of the various teams.

• Hold regular team meetings and conduct quarterly evaluations of team members.
• Ensure team are aligned on organizational strategy and goals.
• Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships.
• Be a role model for the company culture.
